Omega-3 treats are an appealing way to support a cat’s skin and coat, because they double as a reward and a supplement. The catch is that cats are famously picky, and a treat only helps if your cat actually eats it consistently, so we balanced omega-3 quality against real-world palatability throughout this comparison. We evaluated five treats on their omega-3 source, the supporting skin and coat nutrients, the format and how willingly cats tend to accept them. We did not run feeding trials or invent measurements. Treats should stay within the small share of daily calories that keeps a cat’s main diet balanced, so we recommend treating these as a supplement to, not a replacement for, complete nutrition. If your cat has skin issues, persistent shedding changes or other symptoms, see your veterinarian.
