Our team spent weeks evaluating five popular scratching posts designed specifically for large, active cats. We compared each post’s stability when subjected to aggressive scratching, the quality of materials like sisal and wood, and overall construction. What we found was a clear range: some posts wobbled dangerously while others remained rock-solid. In our evaluation, we focused on three critical factors: stability under force, sisal coverage and durability, and base size to weight ratio. We also considered assembly ease and how quickly our test cats took to each post. Our picks represent what we believe offer the best value across different budgets while meeting the needs of larger felines.
