Large and senior dogs put real pressure on their joints, and a thin or sagging bed leaves them sleeping on the hard floor. When we evaluated these dog couches we focused on manufacturer specs and aggregated owner feedback, weighing foam quality, cover durability, and whether the bed holds its shape under a heavy dog rather than flattening within weeks. We did not run a multi-month durability trial, and we will not invent numbers. What we like is supportive orthopedic or memory foam thick enough that a big dog does not bottom out, a waterproof liner for accidents and drool, and a removable washable cover that survives repeated washes. For senior dogs with joint concerns, we also recommend talking with your veterinarian about the right support level rather than relying on marketing claims alone.
