We focused on crate pads built for the popular 30 by 19 inch footprint, the size that fits many small and medium crates. Rather than inventing measurements, we evaluated each pad against manufacturer specs for fill and dimensions, construction details like anti-slip backing, and the patterns we saw across aggregated owner feedback on flatness, durability, and washing. In our evaluation we found the real differences are how well the fill resists flattening, whether the cover survives repeated washes, and how securely the pad stays put in a wire crate. We recommend confirming your crate’s interior measurements before buying, since a pad that is even slightly oversized will bunch and a small one will slide. For chewers, a low-profile washable pad is usually safer than a thick bed they can shred.
