Why Slow Feeders Matter for Indoor Cats Indoor cats often eat too quickly, leading to vomiting, regurgitation, and obesity. Slow feeder bowls have maze-like obstacles that make cats work for their food, mimicking natural foraging behavior. In our evaluation, we focused on factors like material safety, bowl stability, and how effectively each design slows eating without causing frustration. ## How We Tested and Selected We compared 20+ slow feeder bowls against published veterinary standards, manufacturer specs, and aggregated owner feedback. Our team assessed each bowl for non-slip bases, ease of cleaning (dishwasher-safe is a bonus), and whether the pattern was challenging but not impossible for cats. We also considered whisker fatigue, elevated options for senior cats, and suitability for both dry and wet food.
