We focused on practical things: how wide the pan and tilt range is, how sharp the picture stays, and whether the motion alerts actually fire when your dog jumps on the couch. In our evaluation we leaned on manufacturer resolution specs, the breadth of pan and tilt coverage, and the patterns in aggregated owner feedback about app reliability. We paid close attention to two-way audio and night vision, since those features turn a basic camera into a real way to comfort and watch your pet. What we recommend depends on whether you value the sharpest picture or the widest, most automated coverage.
