Cold, wet winters are hard on dogs that lack a dense coat, so we evaluated snow jackets that keep dogs warm and dry without limiting movement. We looked at insulation, waterproofing, belly and chest coverage, and how simply each jacket goes on. In our evaluation we found that the right jacket depends a lot on your dog. Large dogs in deep snow need durable, water-resistant outer layers, while small dogs often do best in cozy fleece pullovers. Easy closures matter for dogs that hate being dressed. We compared manufacturer material and waterproofing specs against owner feedback on warmth and fit so our picks suit different breeds and winter conditions.
