We compared MOLLE dog backpacks and tactical harness saddlebag systems built to let dogs carry water, gear, and supplies on hikes and working outings. Instead of staging trail tests, we evaluated each product against manufacturer specs for materials, sizing, and MOLLE layout, plus the patterns we saw across aggregated owner feedback on fit, durability, and load balance. In our evaluation we found that fit and balance matter most. A well-fitted pack distributes weight evenly and stays put, while a poor fit chafes or shifts. We recommend measuring your dog’s chest and matching the size carefully, and introducing the pack gradually with light loads. As a general rule, healthy adult dogs should carry only a modest fraction of their body weight, so check with your veterinarian before loading a pack, especially for young, senior, or brachycephalic dogs.
