We focused on the one job these sprays must actually do, which is destroy the source of a urine smell rather than perfume over it. Enzyme cleaners digest the organic compounds in pet urine, and that is the difference between a spot that stays clean and one where the smell creeps back, so in our evaluation we prioritized true enzyme and source-targeting formulas over scent maskers. What we like is that these are surface and stain products used on carpet, floors, and upholstery, not on your pet. We assessed them against manufacturer descriptions and aggregated owner feedback, not a home trial. A few cautions apply, since strong citrus and scented sprays can irritate sensitive cats and birds. Ventilate after spraying, keep pets off the treated area until it dries, and store sprays out of reach. For repeat accidents in the same spot, removing the odor fully matters because residual scent draws a pet back to mark again.
