We compared elevated sleeping cots with large and heavy dogs in mind, because that is where cheap frames fail. Rather than claim months of load testing, we evaluated each cot against stated weight ratings, frame and fabric specifications, and the recurring owner feedback about sagging, wobble, and tearing. What we like about a raised cot is the airflow. In our evaluation we found that lifting a dog off the floor lets air move underneath, which keeps a dog cooler in summer and off cold tile or damp ground outdoors. The differences that mattered most were weight capacity with a real margin, how stable the frame stays on uneven ground, and whether the fabric stays taut instead of stretching into a hammock. We recommend choosing a cot rated comfortably above your dog’s weight, and we always suggest checking the listed dimensions against your dog stretched out, since a cot that fits curled up will feel cramped when your dog sprawls.
